This project was a concerted effort with the County of Riverside to upgrade Fire Station #34's emergency response capabilities with a single-story, 1,984 SF addition. The selective demolition of the existing living quarters will make way for a brand new kitchen, living room, and dining area, as well as an 8-dorm, 16-bed sleeping quarters. The building's systems will be modified for the new construction, including mechanical, electrical, and fire alarm systems. Some site improvements will include new ADA-compliant parking stalls, updated sidewalks, and various other hardscape improvements.

The architectural addition to the existing fire station distinguishes the new from the old through the use of modern materials and techniques. With a little refurbishment and a fresh coat of paint, the building's distinct elements are woven into a collaborative dialogue, creating a unified and fresh new facade. This new facade is further enhanced by generous new living quarters with high ceilings and a spacious layout. Overall, the newly improved Fire Station #34 is set to provide support to the community of Winchester, CA for years to come.
