Mama's House
Heartbeat at 22
Mama’s House will offer shelter for mothers and mothers-to-be who are in need. The design team worked closely with the owner to accomplish one primary goal: accommodate as many mothers as possible while still providing privacy, comfort, and safety. In the spirit of collaboration, the owner and architect worked diligently, hand-in-hand with city officials to appropriately respond to community concerns about noise and light pollution. The resulting project not only accomplishes its primary goal but also respectfully ensures that all stakeholders’ concerns were thoughtfully heard and considered.
This 12,500-sf project consists of a 2,800 SF existing residential dwelling with a 1,900 SF addition and (2) new structures, which house a total of (5) casitas for mothers in need. These three (3) buildings are supported by a semi-covered private parking lot and on-site PV. Altogether, the campus works homogenously to always protect and serve its tenants.
