Safehouse of the Desert

Thousand Palms, CA

The SafeHouse project serves both adolescent-aged boys and girls who find themselves on the street with no place to call home. The facility is a small campus of three buildings. Building 1 accommodates an intake center, counseling rooms, separate sleeping quarters for boys and girls, kitchen and eating facilities, and living room/recreation room areas. Building 2 includes offices for administration, conference center, and counseling training areas. Building 3 is an educational facility including classrooms and a computer center.

Kaiser Permanente

Palm Desert, CA

Located in one of the new two-story buildings within the University Centre Professional Park, this facility is a comprehensive outpatient center for Kaiser Permanente. It’s location at a strategic intersection adjacent to Interstate 10 allows this medical office to serve clients from the entire Coachella Valley. The project includes a patient reception area, laboratory, x-ray, multiple exam rooms, nurse stations, and counseling areas.

Parks & Recreation

Veterans Memorial Park

Jurupa, CA

A large-scale renovation of a 40-year-old facility that included virtual reconstruction of the existing 10,000 SF building, including ADA-required modifications. The project also included all new landscaping, an irrigation system, hardscape, site lighting and a new parking lot for 56 vehicles. The building received a new entry element, roofing and new mechanical/electrical systems.

Our Lady of Perpetual Help

 

Indio, CA

Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic School was initially constructed in 1951 and consisted of four classrooms, a kindergarten  classroom and an office. It has since undergone a number of renovations and additions to increase its services  and capacity, including Holt Architecture's addition of a new two-story elementary classroom building. The school has also acquired additional land for future expansion.  

Banning Police Department.

Banning, CA

A new 32,000 SF Police Department that houses the essential services of 911 dispatch, holding cells, booking rooms, evidence storage, administrative spaces, exercise facilities and community meeting rooms.

Southwest Communities Animal Shelter

Wildomar, CA

Southwest Communities Animal Shelter is a complete animal services center that includes a public reception area, administrative offices, kennels for dogs and cats, a treatment center, a surgical suite and large animal housing. The facility has both public and secure parking areas and features indigenous desert landscaping to promote water conservation.

Boys & Girls Club

Coachella, CA

The Boys & Girls Club of Coachella, known as the Frank Foster and Palmer Powell Family Clubhouse offers children and teens a variety of programs and activities to keep them active and inspired. The Gymnasium offers an array of sports programs which rotate throughout the year to include wiffelball, basketball, volleyball, soccer, hockey and more. The Games Room provides game tables and the opportunity to participate in contests and tournaments. The Arts Department exposes clubgoers to ceramics, painting, drawing, crafts and even airbrushing. 

Law Offices of the Public Defender

Riverside, CA

A major renovation of an existing building located in downtown Riverside to house the future Law Offices of the Public Defender for the County of Riverside. The eight-story building will feature a complete new glazing system comprised of dual-pane insulated glass. The building's performance will be optimized through a variety of highly-efficient design features. 

Our Saviors Lutheran Church

Palm Springs, CA

Holt Architecture provided Our Saviors Lutheran Church with a significant addition to the Worship Center that increased the seating capacity to 580, a complete renovation to the existing Fellowship Hall and a new two-level addition that accommodates the Ministry Center, administrative offices andmeeting/conference rooms.The three inter-connected buildings are positioned around a central outdoor patio space, affording a pedestrian-oriented fellowship area. The building’s exterior is characterized by variegated slate surfaces, multicolored exterior plaster and a copper-tone metal facia system.The focal feature of the Fellowship Courtyard is the Copper Cross that appears to rest on a natural rock base from which water flows.
