Fire Station #41
San Bernardino County

The Town of Yucca Valley welcomes a timely upgrade to their local Fire Station, Station #41. The 12,993 SF, three-apparatus bay facility will be homebase from which their local Firefighters will serve and protect Yucca Valley, CA. The project will undertake substantial site improvements including, but not limited to, extended sidewalks, new fire hydrants, site regrading, ADA parking and bioswales to control runoff. The new facility will be accompanied by infrastructure complete with a re-fueling station, hose house and emergency generator.

The two-tiered roof creates a hierarchy, which visually bisects the living and life safety services portions of the program while presenting a simple yet distinguished facade to the public. The use of materials is deliberate, clean and allows for the understated palette of brick, metal and plaster to shine through an array of texture and carefully articulated transitions. Overall, this project not only has been designed to be a state-of-the-art facility to serve the public but also to serve and protect the health and well-being of the servicemen and women whom occupy it.
